David is a native
of Columbia, Missouri and began his radio career in
1994 at KRMS Radio in Osage Beach, Missouri. In 2002,
David took over as Sports Director for two state radio
networks, the Missourinet and Nebraska Radio Network.
During that time, he performed in-game scoreboard updates
for the University of Missouri and University of Iowa
football radio broadcasts. David occasionally provided
live reports for ABC Radio while covering the St. Louis
Rams.
In 2004, David was honored by StateNets, the national
organization of state radio networks, with the award
for “Best Sports Programming” and was runner
up in the same category in 2005. He covered such events
as the Major League Baseball Division and Championship
Series, the 2004 World Series, NFL playoffs, college
football and basketball and championship boxing.
A 1994 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia,
David is an avid fan of the Missouri Tigers football
and basketball, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals,
Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Blues (all of whom
have broken his heart into little, bitty pieces at one
time or another). While his main sports allegiances
are in the Show-Me State, David has had an affinity
for the Red Sox, thanks to an aunt and uncle who lived
in Boston in the mid-1980’s and sent him a Green
Monster t-shirt for Christmas one year. While he won’t
commit to what he calls “sports polygamy”,
he has rooted for the Red Sox, with the exception of
the 2004 World Series!
