Steven Dodrill, a junior at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH has been with 95.9 WATD FM since his senior year at Whitman Hanson Regional High School. Having started as an intern, and then moving to be a correspondent for the towns of Whitman and Hanson. Steven is now the New Hampshire Political correspondent and weekend anchor. Steven will return this summer as a stringer/reporter, and fill-in anchor.

Currently Steven can be heard during the noon news on Sundays and during the week with political reports from New Hampshire the home of the First in the Nation Presidential Primary.

Steven makes the trip each weekend from Rindge, NH to Hanson, MA where he lives with his parents when not away at school. Steven calls WATD his true home and says he would make the sacrifice and drive 2 hours each way to continue what he loves to do.

While at Franklin Pierce, he heads Fitzwater Connections the political reporting arm of the Pierce Media Group. Dodrill works for the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication and as a volunteer firefighter for the Franklin Pierce Fire Company, a company of the Rindge Fire Department. Steven maintains a 3.0 GPA all while working those jobs and as a Public Address Announcer, and sports broadcaster for the Franklin Pierce Athletic Department.  Slated to graduate in December of 2008 a semester ahead of schedule, with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Steven hopes one day to work in radio news in the Boston market.

Steven is the youngest person according to the Associated Press to have won an Edward R. Murrow Award for spot news coverage, and an Associated Press news award for breaking news. In 2005, the year Steve graduated from high school he received the Edward R. Murrow and Associated Press news awards for Breaking News coverage while reporting with WATD Owner and General Manager Ed for their coverage of “A Hole in The Ice.”
