About The Hosts
John Shea
John grew up on the South Shore and has always had an interest in radio. He majored in communications and came to WATD when it was time to do a college internship. 5 ½ years later he’s now WATD’s music director, public service director and occasional fill-in DJ. His passion for supporting local music led him to pitch the idea of a local music show to station management. The result is Almost Famous.
Lisa Azizian
Lisa, a life-long South Shore resident and lover of music, started cutting her chops in radio nearly 2 years ago on South Shore Live, a talk show which airs on 95.9 FM on Monday evenings at 8:00 p.m. Lisa joined The South Shore’s Morning News team on WATD in August 2010 as Rob Hakala’s sidekick and her love for radio and all things local has only intensified. It made total sense for Lisa to align with John on Almost Famous, bringing her 3 loves — the South Shore, music and radio — together with someone as equally passionate about local music.
