The Brockton School Committee will hold a special meeting Tuesday night to discuss how the district goes about conducting background checks on tutors and volunteers.
It comes in the wake of an alleged incident involving 21-year-old Kevin Treseler, who’s accused of raping a third-grader at the Angelo Elementary School, and revelations that some other tutors also weren’t screened.
Brockton School Superintendent Matthew Malone is planning to attend Tuesday’s meeting to explain procedural reforms already put in place to guard against future problems, but he says he can’t promise a lapse would never occur again.
Parents might also get a chance to speak at the public meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the theater in the Arnone Elementary School.
