Kingston: No recount despite close selectmen’s race

Most Kingston incumbents won re-election on Saturday.

But challenger Ronald Gleason beat out selectmen’s incumbent Dennis Randall by 15 votes.

Randall, who won the seat by just three votes three years ago, says he will not ask for a recount.

Sandra MacFarlane won another term on the Kingston board of selectmen.

A ballot question seeking a Proposition 2 1/2 override for catch basins and drainage improvements at Gray’s Beach Park passed last night.

But second ballot question seeking an override to revamp the Kingston’s transfer station was voted down.

Kingston reported a 12 percent voter turnout.
