State Police: Elderly driver involved in crash had long-expired license

State police say an elderly driver, whose license expired back in 1989 and was never renewed, was involved in a crash Monday afternoon on Route 3 north, just north of route 44 in Plymouth.

Police said they found that the man, born in 1928, did not have an active license, after he was struck from behind by a woman following him back to their homes in Carver. The woman was born in 1929.

Neither suffered injuries, but the elderly man will be summoned to court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and the woman was issued a civil citation.

Their names are not being released.
