There’s new information in connection with the body of a young woman discovered on Nantasket Beach in Hull.

State police tell WATD that the death appears to be suspicious, though no foul play is evident.

Police have identified the victim as Violet Nickerson, 19, of Hull.

A walker reportedly found the remains in the surf at the northern end of the beach in the area of X St. around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and called police.

WATD was on the scene and spoke to some residents of Beach Ave. who saw the body.

They say she was wearing blue jeans, black shoes, and a jacket.

The witnesses say the body was lying in some seaweed and rocks where waves had pounded the beach at high tide, and that there was blood on her face.

State police were going door to door near the beach on Saturday as they conducted their investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hull Police at (781) 925-1212.

A call placed to the office of Plymouth County D.A. Tim Cruz was not returned, but a statement says investigators have been in touch with local police departments to determine if there have been any missing person reports.
