Hanson: Write-in Flynn and incumbent Egan win selectmen seats, overrides fail

Hanson voters reelected an incumbent and elected a write-in candidate in the selectmen’s race on Saturday.

The top two vote getters were Jim Egan with 597  and write-in Richard Flynn with 557.

Candidate Thomas Chambers was defeated.

Robert O’Brien won the race for a seat on the Whitman-Hanson Regional School Committee with 680 votes, defeating Laura FitzGerald-Kemmet, who received 469 votes.

Both Hanson ballot questions failed on Saturday.

Question 1 called for a debt exclusion to make repairs to the roof of the Indian Head School, while Question 2 called for a Proposition 2 ½  override.
