Marshfield: Police recommend selectmen revoke restaurant’s liquor license

Marshfield police Captain Phil Tavares requested Monday night that selectmen conduct an emergency liquor license violation hearing against the AA Buffet restaurant on Route 139.

AA Buffet is now facing serious alleged liquor violations. Marshfield police Captain Phil Tavares told selectmen that he responded to a call at the restaurant last Friday night to discover a crowd of drunken people drinking from bar glasses outside in the parking lot–seven cruisers responded to that call. The AA Buffet had entertainment that night, but no police details were present.

Captain Tavares says the restaurant allegedly lied to Marshfield police after saying they wouldn’t need any more police details because they wouldn’t have any more bands or DJ’s there.

Marshfield police had previously found 11 full kegs of beer outside the AA Buffet on a Monday when it was closed. The hearing is set for next Monday night, 8:15 at the Seth Ventress Building
