Scituate: Large turnout votes ‘yes’ on Prop 2½ override

Scituate held their elections Saturday.

Although there were no contested races, there were two questions on the ballot.

Voters say yes to question 1, voting 2,664 to 2,391 in favor of a $2.2 million dollar proposition 2 ½ override for both town and school departments.

Question 2, non-binding question asking if the town should live within its means over the next three years by not passing any operational overrides, also passed 2,731 to 1,924.

The petition question by resident Norm Paley was submitted before selectmen placed an override question on the ballot.
