Braintree: Woman charged with driving drunk, punching cop

A woman driving with two small children in a mini-van did not cooperate when she was pulled over for drunk driving in Braintree earlier this week.

Police says 42-year-old Ann Martin was driving a Dodge Caravan Monday night when she was pulled over after a caller reported she was all over the road on Commercial Street. She was also observed hitting the curb several times, and then weaving into the opposite lane of traffic.

When she was pulled over a short time later, one officer went to talk with her while another went to check on the two kids belted in the back of the caravan.

Martin then allegedly punched one of the officers in the back; she was taken into custody, but still continued to struggle.

Martin was taken to the Braintree police station, and after refusing sobriety tests Martin was charged with several offenses including operating under the influence and assault and battery on a police officer.
