Big budget matters await Monday night’s Special Town Meeting in Hanson.
Residents will consider action on a revised budget for the fiscal year that starts next month.
Hanson needs to adopt a new spending plan because a proposed override of nearly $600,000 was defeated in last month’s elections.
Just prior to that, annual Town Meeting had appropriated $20 million to fund the 2012 budget subject to passage of the override, a permanent increase in the property tax cap.
Hanson officials are expected to propose using combination of spending cuts and available cash to cover the shortfall.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the middle school.
