Marshfield officials, residents and members of the Seawall Committee will get a rare opportunity sit down with the Army Corps of Engineers on Tuesday.
But the nature of the meeting is a bit unclear.
The Corps says it’s a routine preapplication meeting to let the Seawall Committee know what permits the town would need for work on seawalls.
But Joe Rossi, the head of the committee, calls it an “interagency” meeting to begin long-range regional planning for shoreline protection.
Rossi, who works for state Senator Bob Hedlund, says Hedlund will be at the meeting, along with state Representative Jim Cantwell and Congressman Bill Keating.
Several government agencies may also be there.
The meeting is slated for 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ann by the Sea Church on Ocean St.
