A speedboat flipped over and broke apart off the coast of Hull, killing one passenger and seriously injuring another.
58-year-old Micheal Spirito of Hingham was killed and his passener 63-year-old Robert Fox is in critical condition at Boston Medical Center after the two men were thrown out of Spirito’s “cigarette boat” after the boat capsized when it hit a wave or a wake from another boat.
It happened near Boston Light around 6:15 p.m. Saturday.
The boat was believed to be traveling at about 50 knots when it capsized.
Spirito was pronounced dead at the scene, while Fox was flown to Boston.
