Authorities say they plan to search again Thursday for a missing boater feared dead after a boating accident in Marshfield on Saturday night.

Harbormaster Mike DiMeo plans to continue searching the waters off the coast of Brant Rock today. Marshfield Fire Chief Kevin Robinson says they will expand the search area each day until the body of 23-year-old Steven ‘Zac” Woods is found.

Robinson says the weather and sea conditions have been cooperating since the accident Saturday night at around 8:20 pm.

Robinson tells WATD-FM that a cadaver dog was brought in this week from Connecticut and helped in the search Tuesday while riding on the water in a Marshfield Fire Department boat.

Today’s search will consist of divers from the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team and the Marshfield Fire Department. Boats from the Marshfield Harbormaster’s office are expected to be in the area, along with boats from the Massachusetts State Police, and Marshfield Fire Department.

Wednesday’s search was primarily done by staff from Harbormaster Mike DiMeo’s office and beach patrol. DiMeo says local pilots have chipped in with an aerial search out of  George Harlow Field in Marshfield.

On Tuesday night, friends and family gathered on Ocean Avenue in Marshfield for a candle-light vigil. The vigil was held on the seawall, which overlooks the area where Saturday’s accident occured and where Woods was last seen.

Woods, who worked at Rockland Athletic Supply, was a graduate of Marshfield High School.
