Marshfield: Officials encourage residents to head to public buildings during heat spell

With a prolonged period of excessive heat predicted to begin Thursday, Marshfield officials have arranged some options for residents looking for cover.

The Marshfield Emergency Management Agency has teamed up with Ventress Library and the Council on Aging to provide some spots of relief from the heat.

Officials are encouraging people to head over to either air-conditioned building during the severe heat spell. The Council on Aging, at 230 Webster Street, will be open until 8 p.m. on Friday. The COA also has free fans available to loan. The Ventress Memorial Library, at 15 Library Plaza, will be open until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Anyone who needs further information or help finding resources can contact the Marshfield Emergency Management Agency at 781-837-7100, the Ventress Library at 781-834-5535, or the Council on Aging at 781-834-5581.
