Plymouth: Authorities respond to report of ‘near drowning’

A scary situation Thursday morning on Long Beach in Plymouth, when fire officials got a report of a possible drowning in the waters off of Sandy’s Snack Bar.

Fire officials responded to the area of 41 Ryder Way in Plymouth, after a person on the beach called to report a swimmer in the water was drowning.

Authorities scrambled boats to respond to the area near the snack bar, and when they arrived on scene, they discovered the swimmer was in the water,  but was returning to shore.

The female swimmer was out of the water just a few minutes before 8 a.m.

It is unclear if she was transported to the hospital to be checked out.
