Plymouth: New plan for former proposed movie studio site receives cool reception

Waverly Oaks Golf Club owner Mark Ridder presented his idea to the Planning Board Monday night to build 75 to 100 or so houses on a 42-acre portion of the almost 250-acre course. The Board didn’t like this idea.

Chairman of the Board Marc Garrett said, “My objections are that it’s an incredibly dense development, totally out of character to the area, and it presents certain issues, an additional curb cut and other things. They haven’t proved to me that that’s the best alternative.”

Ridder plans to go back to the board

“We’ll revise the site plan based on comments and present something that we’ll get some more feedback from,” said Ridder.

So. what is the current status of Waverly Oaks association with Plymouth Rock Studios?

“They have no contract or anything with us,” said Ridder.

The Planning Board meets next Monday at 7 p.m.
