Quincy: Drunk driving said to be cause of fatal head-on crash

A 28-year-old Plymouth man is in hot water for a deadly accident in Quincy that State Police say was the result of drunk driving.

His passenger, a 27-year-old Hull man, was injured.

The head-on crash happened Sunday morning at the intersection of Quincy Shore Dr. and Rice Rd., when a pickup truck heading southbound drifted into the northbound lane and struck an SUV.

The driver of the SUV, a 50-year-old Jamaica Plain man, was killed.

His passenger, a 23 -year-old from Dorchester, was seriously hurt.

No names have been released.
