Weymouth: Car crash sends several to the hospital, knocks out power

A car crash on Monday afternoon in Weymouth, near the Hingham line, took down a utility pole, sent several people to the hospital, shut down the road, and knocked out power to much of North Weymouth.

The crash on Route 3A near Neck Road, happened around 4 p.m.

One witness told WATD that a car hit a pole. The pole broke across the car’s  hood and wires came down across two other vehicles.

Traffic was shut down for several hours on route 3A near the Back River Bridge as emergency crews cleaned up and several people were taken to the hospital.

The names and conditions of the victims is unknown.
