Braintree: Police looking for would-be bank robber

Braintree police are investigating an attempted bank robbery Wednesday morning.

Bank employees told police that a white male in his early 30s entered the Citizen’s Bank at 540 Granite Street carrying a blue duffle bag and approached a teller’s window, and presented her with a note demanding money.

However, because of computer problems, the the teller he approached was not able to conduct cash transactions and had no money. After learning she didn’t have any cash, the suspect left without incident.

There was no weapon shown and no one was injured.

The suspect is described a 5’7”, with a thin build (130-135lbs), suntanned skin, short dark brown hair cut in a whiffle cut, and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a gray T-shirt with blue print on the front and dark-colored jeans.
