It’s a proposal aimed at keeping Brockton’s 2 a.m. bars from becoming “last call” spots for people from neighboring towns.
Brockton’s License Commission wants to formalize an unwritten rule prohibiting bars from admitting patrons after 1 a.m.
The move began to gain momentum in the spring after two big late-night brawls.
The rule would apply to restaurants, hotels and bars, and would also require entertainment to stop at 1:30 a.m., with last call no later than 1:45.
It’s slated to be discussed at a special public License Commission meeting Wednesday at six p.m. at Brockton High School.
