Crews got reports of fire at Paisano’s Restaurant at 6 Pembroke St. (Route 27) in Kingston, at just around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a heavy smoke condition in the first floor lounge, dining and kitchen areas.

The fire was found in the second floor storage area adjacent to the office. Kingston Fire Chief Robert Heath said the fire required them to open the roof. Three ladders trucks were brought to the scene– Mutual aid was brought in from Plymouth, Duxbury, Halifax and Pembroke.

The fire was reportedly knocked down at around 4:30 p.m., but crews remained to work on the scene while the State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate. There were no injuries reported, and no word yet on a cause– except that Chief Heath says it is not earthquake-related.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.
