Marshfield: Police investigate looting and possible outage-related death

Marshfield police say looting, and possibly one death, occurred in the chaos following the storm.

A glass store window at Marshfield Liquor Store on Ocean Street was smashed sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday. The owner of the store said nothing appeared to be stolen.

There were several other incidents in town on Sunday that police characterized as looting, which Police Lt. Paul Taber says remain under investigation.

Police also are reporting that a Marshfield woman in her 60s died after apparently falling down stairs during the power outage.
