Plymouth County: Sheriff’s Department tests new ‘Code Red’ emergency alert system

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department is launching a new program titled “Code Red”, according to Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald.

“Code-Red” is going to give law enforcement officials another tool in their tool chest when it comes time to inform residents of Plymouth and Bristol Counties about emergencies and public safety related announcements.

The Sheriff’s Departmen began testing the program on Wednesday.

When you register online, shortly after you receive a test message from the new emergency alert system.

Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald says the web-based program, is being funded through a state legislature allocation, sheparded through the state senate by Senate President Therese Murray of Plymouth.
