Plymouth: Tractor-trailer crash ties up morning commute

A motor vehicle crash Monday morning on Route 3 south, between Exits 6 and 5 in the left lane, caused major traffic problems.

The crash, involving a flat-bed tractor-trailer, happened around 9 a.m.

Plymouth Fire Chief Ed Bradley said that roughly 80 gallons of diesel duel spilled when the truck’s gas tank ruptured.

Chief Bradley said they had cleared the scene at about 11:05 a.m., but Mass Department of Environmental Protection was also responding to the scene.

He says no rivers or streams were affected.

State Police said the road was open and traffic is reportedly flowing well through the area by noon.
