E. Bridgewater: Community center construction well underway

A longtime dream for East Bridgewater seniors and other residents is closer to coming true.

Construction of a community facility called The Center at Sachem Rock is expected to be finished next spring.

A 1.5-story connector will join the new barn-style facility to the existing farmhouse, which is being completely renovated.

When it’s finished, the nearly $4 million community center on Plymouth St.-Rte. 18 will house an assembly room that can seat 200 people.

There will also be two or three meeting areas, a rec-room, full-service kitchen, and offices for the Council on Aging.
