Hanover: Smoke-free barrier becomes official

A warning to smokers in Hanover.

Selectmen say anyone who wants to light up at Town Hall or any other town-owned property must remain at least 25-feet from any door or window.

Health officials brought the policy to the oversight board for official approval, even though it has been in effect since the spring.

 Receptacles for putting out cigarettes will be positioned at the required distance.
