Braintree: Alleged deadbeat dad from Massachusetts held on $25K bail

One of Massachusetts most wanted deadbeat dads has been ordered held on $20,000 bail.

Gerard Colucci, formerly of Braintree, was held after pleading not guilty in Quincy District Court to charges of abandonment of a child without support and failure to comply with a support order.

Authorities say Colucci owes about $55,000 in back child support for his now teenage daughter.

The state Department of Revenue put Colucci on the list of its 10 most-wanted deadbeat dads in 2009.

He was recently apprehended in Las Vegas.

His lawyer tells The Patriot Ledger of Quincy  that his client has been struggling since losing his job four years ago, but more recently has been working and expects to resolve the charges.
