Bruins: Avalanche beat Bruins 1-0

Milan Hejduk scored with 12:03 left in the third period and Semyon Varlamov stopped 30 shots for his fifth career shutout, lifting the Colorado Avalanche to a 1-0 win over the Boston Bruins. The Stanley Cup champion Bruins have lost two of three to start the season. Hejduk scored the Avalanche’s first goal of the season.
