Bruins: B’s sign Peverley to a three-year contract extension

The Boston Bruins have signed center Rich Peverley to a three-year contract extension. Peverley was a key member of last season’s Stanley Cup championship team. The team announced the deal yesterday that will keep Peverley under contract through the 2014-15 season.

Boston Bruins center David Krejci won’t be available for the game tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes because of an injury. The club says he will continue to be evaluated by the medical staff in Boston and his status for Saturday’s game in Chicago will be determined later this week.

The Bruins play at Carolina tonight at 7:30 p.m.
