Marshfield: Police subdue knife-wielding woman

Marshfield police put a lid on a dangerous domestic situation, subduing a woman who had been threatening her family with a knife after cutting power to the house.

Officers were called to the home on Warren Ave. at 9 p.m. Friday night, and found the unidentified 30-year-old barricaded herself in a room.

She eventually put down the knife, but then began threatening officers with a glass bowl she was holding over her head.

Police were able to diffuse the situation and the woman was taken to South Shore Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The woman’s parents say she hadn’t been taking her medication.
