It’s been called a “free-for-all” for more than 20 years, and now Middleboro officials are again trying to get a state grant to fix the town’s confusing Everett Square intersection.
The town has applied for a $1.3 million to redesign the square.
A public hearing will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Town Hall to present two proposals.
One of them is a roundabout, the other is reconfiguring the five roads that feed the square.
The state is expected to award the MassWorks grant by the end of the month.
If Middleboro gets it, work will begin next spring and wrap up by the end of next year.
