The second debate between Quincy Mayor Tom Koch and challenger Anne Mahoney takes place Thursday night.

The debate will be broadcast from the studios of Quincy’s cable television station at the Thomas Crane Public Library.

WATD’s Dave Skill will be joined by a reporter from the Patriot Ledger and Joe Catalano from QATV asking the mayor and his challenger questions.

There will also be an open forum where Mayor Koch and challenger Anne Mahoney will discuss the risks the city of Quincy faces as it proceeds with its $1.6 billion downtown revitalization project and what can be done to minimize them. Koch and Mahoney will also address the fact that the city had to hand out pink slips to 230 teachers last year, and if it could have been handled differently.

Koch, who was sworn in as mayor in 2008, graduated from North Quincy High School where he was class president. Mahoney is the fourth generation of her family to live in their home in West Quincy. She attened Quincy Public Schools and graduated from Suffolk University with a degree in finance.

The debate is from 7 to 8 p.m. and will be aired live on Quincy cable.
