Braintree: Hingham man sentenced for throwing dog off balcony

A Hingham man was convicted Friday of throwing his ex-girlfriend’s chihuahua off a balcony in Braintree.

35-year-old Patrick Daly, of Old Derby Street, Hingham, claimed the dog nipped at his daughter before the incident last year.

Daly threw the 14-year-old dog, Pepe, who had arthritis, off the 12-foot balcony to a concrete slab below. The dog did not survive.

Daly was sentenced to serve one year of a two and half year sentence. He was also sentenced to probation when his jail time is over.
