A teenage girl was transported to the hospital with severe injuries to her leg after a dirt bike accident on Friday afternoon.
Bridgewater Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Levy said they got a 911 at around 3:45 p.m. Friday for a dirt bike accident on an access road in the Vernon Street and Spruce Street area. They found a 17-year-old girl with her left leg trapped in the of the rear tire chain and fender.
“We needed to cut the chain, the shroud and the tire itself off of her leg from where the injury had occurred on her lower ankle area,” said Levy.
The girl was taken to Brockton Hospital with serious leg injuries. Deputy Chief Levy said that a group of civilians called 911 and attended to the girl while help arrived, and then brought emergency workers some hand tools from a nearby home to help cut her free.
