Duxbury: Solar project moves forward

Duxbury officials have begun working with a consultant to develop a solar energy project for the town’s landfill.

Town Meeting voters recently approved a measure to develop a 200 to 300 kilowatt array of more than 1,ooo solar panels to be installed over as much as two acres of the capped landfill on Mayflower St.

A system would be built to produce renewable energy for the electric grid and provide Duxbury with energy at below-market rates.
