The fate of a new Marshfield High School rests with Thursday’s Town Meeting, followed by a ballot on Saturday on a proposed temporary property tax increase to pay for the project.
The Town Meeting article would authorize the town to fund its portion of the approximately $100 million construction cost, estimated at $55 million.
The rest would come from the state.
The property tax increase is estimated at about $100 for every $100,000 of assessed home value over a 20-year period.
Town Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Marshfield High School and at Furnace Brook Middle School; residents may attend at either location.
