Roughly 2,000 people packed the Marshfield High School gym and Furnace Brook Middle School auditorium and cafeteria for
a special town meeting last night, casting 1,703 votes or a whopping 88% in favor of building a new $103.9 million dollar model high school.
Supporters easily won the two-thirds vote needed. Only 217 people voted against the article, which proposes for the school to take part in the state’s model school program.
The next step is a proposition 2 1/2 override debt exclusion vote at the polls tomorrow at the Furnace Brook Middle School.
WATD’s John Penny has the story.
