A Weymouth man who led authorities on a massive manhunt last week, is due in court on Monday.
Anton Matthews is facing a slew of charges, including the attempted murder of his girlfriend.
The situation began late Friday afternoon when the woman went to the police station, and said Matthews had been beating her for several days and nearly killed her in their South Weymouth home.
Matthews took off into a wooded area when police tried to question him, sparking a ground and air search that ended two hours later when authorities cornered Matthews in a condominium he had broken into less than a-mile from his home.
A gun was found in Matthews’ apartment.
He was being held on $100,000 bail pending his appearance in Quincy District Court.
