Abington: Elderly man found dead after failing to return from hunting trip

The search for a missing person Wednesday night in the Abington area came to a sad end.

Abington Police Chief David Majenski says they got a call Wednesday night about a missing North Quincy man who had gone out hunting on his 83rd birthday. Friends of Francis Vignoni called police when he didn’t return.

Police and fire personnel searched for him, along with a Plymouth County Sheriff’s canine. The dog found Vignoni deceased about 300 yards off of Chestnut street, in a very wet and muddy area.
