Getting a Read on South Shore Libraries: Plympton– A Cozy, part-time library

Small, friendly Plympton has a cozy, part-time library, open only three days a week. The staff makes the most of that time.

“We know most of our patrons,” Library Director Debby Batson said. “We know their favorite authors.”

The little community room has the feel of an old front parlor, with comfortable chairs around a fireplace.

“This is the kind of library I remember as a kid,” Batson said. “I grew up in Pembroke and that’s what I remember when I was very young. They knew who you were. They knew what you liked. We’re out to do the same thing here.”
