Hingham: Men try to rob woman outside bank

Hingham police are investigating the attempted robbery of a woman making a deposit at the Rockland Trust Bank on William B. Terry Dr.

Lt. John Norkaitis told WATD that several masked men approached a woman making a night deposit around 9:30 p.m. Friday, and demanded her money bag.

The woman, who owns a business in Weymouth, had already dropped the bag in the depository, so the men fled the area empty-handed.

Norkaitis says the woman was shaken but unharmed, and that police are hoping surveillance video may help them find the suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hingham police at (781) 749-1212.
