Marshfield: Illegal immigrant charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend is indicted

A Plymouth County grand jury has indicted the man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in a Marshfield apartment complex in September.

41 year-old Marcelo Almeida will be arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder on January 4th in Brockton Superior Court.

Almeida, an illegal immigrant from Brazil, is charged in the death of 24-year-old Patricia Frois at the Village at Marshfield apartment complex.

Almeida was arraigned on September 28th and the indictment transfers his case to Superior Court.

A witness said she saw Almeida stabbing Frois with a knife on the morning of September 26th.

Almeida allegedly said that he stabbed Frois “because of love.”

Almeida is being held at the Plymouth County jail.
