Plymouth and Norfolk Counties: 54 arrested in drug bust

54 people have been arrested in Plymouth and Norfolk counties on drug related charges.

Plymouth County D-A Tim Cruz and Norfolk D-A Michael Morrissey said the arrests today are the result of a five month investigation.

The arrests involve the use of false prescriptions to fraudulently obtain oxycodone from pharmacies in both counties.

Arrest warrants for a total of 70 suspects were sought and obtained from courthouses in both counties.

Police from Abington, Braintree, Boston, Brockton, Marshfield, Plymouth, Quincy, Weymouth, Whitman, and the Norfolk and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, as well as a number of other law enforcement agencies made the arrests.

Cruz says the investigation is ongoing.
