Plymouth: Men arrested for stealing storm grates for scrap

Two young men accused of stealing close to two dozen storm grates in order to sell them for scrap will appear in court on Monday, after being nabbed by state police in Plymouth.

On Saturday a trooper pulled over a Budget rental truck at the Bourne Rotary, matching the description of one authorities had been told to look out for.

In the back of the vehicle were 22 storm grates, each worth an estimated $250.

Charged are the driver, Benjamin Sisson, and his passenger, Christopher Williams, both of Falmouth.

They’re scheduled to appear in Falmouth District Court.

Authorities say the grates were stolen from Wareham, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, and Bourne.
