Rockland: Town Administrator admits to driving drunk

A Rockland town official arrested for driving drunk Thursday night admitted he was guilty at his arraignment at Brockton District Court Friday morning.

57-year-old Rockland Town Administrator Alan Chiocca was charged with drunk driving and speeding after he was arrested late Thursday night in Abington when state police troopers saw Chiocca driving a 2011 Chevy s10 pickup truck at a high rate of speed along Rt 58.

Chiocca, a former state representative, will lose his license for 45 days and, as part of the conditions of his plea deal, will remain on probation for a year and must attend an alcohol program for first time drunk driving offenders.

Chiocca has been the Town Administrator in Rockland since being hired in 2008. He served as a state rep from 1981 to 1985.
