Bridgewater: Safe stolen from hair salon

A safe full of money has gone missing Bridgewater.

Police Lt. Thomas Schlatz says a large safe, at least 4 feet high was taken from a Bridgewater hair salon. The Rhino safe had around $1,000 inside and weighed about 600 pounds.

An employee who arrived at the Pro-Cuts salon at 233 Broad street, at the Campus Plaza Shopping Center, Tuesday morning discovered the back door open and the safe missing.

There were marks on the floor where it was dragged.

“The safe was physically attached to the wall and the floor–so they had to strike the wall and floor to detach the safe, and they damaged the floor as they dragged it out.”

No other businesses in the plaza were broken into.

An attempt to break into the Pro-Cuts in Marshfield was also made, but the break was thwarted when the front door was broken and the alarm sounded. According authorities to Pro-Cuts police arrived on scene very quickly.
