Brockton: Man shot by police during domestic incident

A Brockton man is hospitalized after being shot by police during a reported incident of domestic violence.

Officers were called to the home of 36-year-old Christopher Arnold shortly before 3:00 a.m. Sunday, and found him standing at the end of the drive-way, holding a knife in each hand.

The Plymouth D.A.’s office says Arnold ignored repeated orders to drop the knives, and was shot in the leg and abdomen after moving toward the officers in a threatening manner.

Arnold was taken to a Boston hospital and is expected to survive.

He’s charged with domestic assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest.

No court date has been set, and the investigation is ongoing.
