Carver: Police urge caution after reported coyote attack

Carver police are warning residents about coyotes in the area, after a small pack reportedly tried to attacked a man while he was shoveling snow Friday morning.

Carver police say they received a report that three dogs or foxes tried to attack a Pleasant Street resident while he was shoveling snow at around 8:40 a.m. Friday. A search of the area showed signs that three coyotes were in the area.

Police say that in September of last year, in the same area, a dog was killed–likely by a coyote.

Police are urging residents to secure trash and compost materials which may attract coyotes. Residents should call Carver Police or Environmental Police if they encounter any wild animals problems.
